The Early Childhood Research Lab
ECRL
The Early Childhood Research Lab, led by Dr. Greta Doctoroff, conducts research to improve social-emotional, behavioral, and early academic development for at-risk children. Our projects focus on supporting caregivers to engage in practices that promote optimal development in the context of risk. We conduct research with two populations: 1) research targeting preschool children and their caregivers in settings like Head Start, and 2) research investigating the experiences of premature infants and their families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our lab engages in studies on early relationships, parenting, teaching practices, and prevention and intervention programs.
